Export of VM/VPG data?
in: General Discussion
Hi, We’re embarking on an effort to point most of our VPG’s to a different vcenter/cluster/storage/network. With our Standard licensing it appears we have to rebuild all the VPG’s (close to 200 VPG’s). I’d like to get a clean export of VM to VPG data along with configuration info such as failover network. Worst case an export […]

Forums can be great…
in: General Discussion
for both customers and suppliers. As a guy whose been doing the VMware thing since 2004 I feel that one of the most valuable sources of information is VMware’s community forums. I can often find answers there must faster than if I put in a support ticket. I think suppliers (in this case Zerto employees) […]

Questions about Zerto naming conventions in Azure
in: Microsoft Azure
Hello, I’m currently working on some Azure processes and want to confirm that a few parts of Zerto’s implementation of it are expected and not planned to change just to make sure what I’m working on doesn’t break with an upcoming update. 1) When running a failover or failover test, the VM and its NIC […]

v6.0P1 Fixes/Changes?
in: General Discussion
Hi – I noticed that you’ve released Patch 1 for the recently released v6.0. I’ve read through the release notes but I don’t see anything that specifically says what was fixed/changed from v6.0 to v6.0P1. Is there a way I can find out what the fixes/changes are for this Patch? Thanks

"Setting Validation Failed" in Invoke-RestMethod
in: Scripting and APIs
I am using a script to pull the settings of all VM NIC settings, based off the script found here starting on page 16: https://www.zrto-dev.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Automating-Zerto-Virtual-Replication-with-PowerShell-and-REST-APIs.pdf It mostly works, however I found it was skipping over some VPGs. Digging into it, I found that the problem was occuring here (near the top of page 18): <h6>########################################## […]

No activity on Dashboard
in: General Discussion
So I just noticed today that on my Dashboard and on the Sites tab there is no activity showing for IOPS/THROUGHPUT and WAN TRAFFIC. We have over 250+ VPGs with two sites that cross replicate so I’m wondering if anyone else has had this issue. When I ran a test failover a single spike showed […]

Shutdown a disconnected VRA
in: General Discussion
I have an esxi host that is not responding in vCenter. All VMs on this host are still running. VMware support wants me to gracefully shutdown all affected VMs and then power cycle the host. How do I gracefully shutdown the affected VRA? I have only ever shutdown VRAs thru vCenter, but that is not […]

Post VPG FailoverTest cleanup via API
in: Scripting and APIs
I’m building some tools into my company’s intranet web app that will allow running VPG failovers and tests of failovers by making calls to the API behind the scenes. It’s clear that I would call the VPG test endpoint to start a test: Test VPG https://zvm_ip:port/v1/vpgs/{protectionGroupIdentifier}/failoverTest But it’s not entirely clear what to call when […]

Live Failover button grayed out

Hi Everyone, Wondering if you’ve experience this issue before. I was trying to do a live failover but the ‘failover’ button is grayed out! The machines I want to failover are all synced, so I’m not too sure what would be causing it to not move forward. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. […]
