in: General Discussion
I have a customer who has Oracle Databases 12c and SQL Srvr 2014, which are installed on physical equipment for performance reasons, in this equipment is only installed and configured the Data Base Manager. The information is stored within a separate Storage (NAS) system and is replicated between sites through a dedicated link with the […]

Change Series Size Failover/Move/Test on Existing
in: Microsoft Azure
Is there anyway to change the existing targeted size in Failover/Move or Testing VM? You can change the VPG, but it doesn’t change the individual VM’s. When I go to the Advanced VM Settings, there’s no option to change the size.

Protect RDM's with Odd Number of Blocks
in: VMware
Purpose When protecting a VM with RDM LUNs in a Zerto Virtual Replication VPG, an administrator may see that the VPG unexpectedly drops into a “Needs Configuration” status with subtext similar to the following: The RDM {0} for the VM {1} in VPG {2} has an odd number of blocks, which can only be replicated […]

Multipathing support
in: Hyper-V
So, I’m looking at the Zerto Virtual Manager Hyper-V Administration Guide, version 6.0 Rev01-U1 Mar2018. There’s a curious statement on page 261: Zerto Virtual Replication does not support multi-pathing. That’s a pretty blanket statement, and as written would seem to make Zerto unsupported in any highly-available Fibre Channel or iSCSI SAN environment with Hyper-V. That […]

API/Powershell ZVM authentication
in: Scripting and APIs
Powershell version: 5.1 / ZVR Version: 5.5 Update1 I’m trying to do some testing with PowerShell and rest API. When using an example script from the White Paper “Automating Zerto Virtual Replication with PowerShell and REST APIs” (page 9) I’m having some authentication issues. I receive the exception error below. The problem seems to be, at […]

Using Zerto to migrate VMs from ESX 5.5 to 6.5\6.7
in: VMware
I have an existing Zerto environment on vSphere 5.5U3 and I want to migrate the VMs to another environment on 6.5 or 6.7. It seems that the replication should continue to work between the 5.5 and 6.5\6.7 hosts. Anything I need to look out for Thanks, Miguel

Bulk Edit VRA – Update Default Gateway
in: Scripting and APIs
I’m working on a script that will edit the default gateway of VRAs. I’m getting the following error while running the script: PS C:\Windows\system32> TerminatingError(Invoke-RestMethod): “Request Error The server encountered an error processing the request. Please see the service help page for constructing valid requests to the service.” Exception : System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned […]

Failover test while delta synch in progress?
in: VMware
We just had a power failure in the primary site and all VPG’s are delta synching. Is it OK to run a failover test on a VPG while the VPG is delta synching?

Zerto Support for VMware NSX?
in: VMware
You can get the VMware explanation of NSX here: https://pubs.vmware.com/NSX-6/index.jsp#com.vmware.nsx.admin.doc/GUID-10944155-28FF-46AA-AF56-7357E2F20AF4.html My question is does Zerto currently support NSX, and if so, are there any particular ‘gotchas’ or issues to be aware of?

Can Zerto exclude disks for replication?
in: General Discussion
I am trying to figure out if Zerto can completely ignore certain disks on a protected VM. We have database backup dump devices that we do not want to replicate. I realize there is a temp flag that can be set that will not replicate changes after initial sync but from the documentation I have […]

Powershell ZertoModule
in: Scripting and APIs
Hi everyone – I’ve created a wrapper for the REST API that converts most of the calls to pretty standard Powershell commands. Its pretty simple to use and so far I’ve covered the majority of the API, although some of the VGPSettings are not finished. https://www.powershellgallery.com/packages/ZertoModule Example usage: <pre class=”EnlighterJSRAW” data-enlighter-language=”csharp”>PS C:\Scripts> Set-Item ENV:ZertoServer […]

Opening firewall ports on ZVM
in: Self-Installation Questions
It appears that windows updates or windows admin policy settings wiped out my firewall settings on one of my ZVM’s. I am looking for the steps to manually open the ports back up. The server is Windows 2012R2. I have the list of ports but when I go into the firewall I don’t know […]

It would be uber helpful if there was a smartphone app available to keep track of at least the zerto summary tab. Any word if something like that is coming?
