Thank you Ofir for the suggestion. Our institution runs Hyper-V not VMware  so I cannot use RVTools. However, I moved the files to a different location and watched to see if anything broke. Everything was good so I then removed the files as they were zombies.

Retaining LTR data

We are retiring old file servers and would like to keep the LTR data for CYA. If I remove the VM from the VPG does that also remove the LTR data? I want to be sure.

I have been using Zerto for a while now and I do not pause replication. Once the reboot is complete the ZVM picks up where it left off, catching up with the VRA’s stored data. Nothing is lost.

I run exactly that – daily incremental LTR’s, weekly incremental LTR’s, monthly full LTR’s, yearly full LTR’s. What I see is the longer held LTR jobs stay while the shorter held jobs simply disappear over time. This is working as designed. I even have a tape backup of the LTR repository stored offsite.
