Vmware Cross Version Replication

  • Is there an issue with replicating from esxi5.5 to esxi6.7?

    Hi Chen,

    Good day to you.

Esxi 5.5 and Esxi 6.7 are supported by Zerto 6.5, 7.0 and 7.5. (Please note ESXi 6.7u3 is only supported by 6.5u4p1, 7.0u2p2 and all 7.0 family)
For more information, please refer to the following link:

However, you have to make sure that VM’s hardware version. For ESXi 5.5, it only support the hardware version up to Version 10. However, ESXi 6.7 can the support hardware version up to version 15.

    Hi

    Thanks for the answer.

    But my question were other.

My question is about replicating BETWEEN 5.5 and 6.7.

Lets say my main site is 5.5 and DR is 6.5 or 6.7.

Does zerto support such deployment ?

    Hello Chen,

    Brian from Zerto here.

You can replicate from ESXi 5.5 in the Production site to ESXi 6.7 in DR site.

Please be sure to keep the hardware version to 10 (supported for both ESXi) – (Please note ESXi 6.7u3 is only supported by 6.5u4p1, 7.0u2p2 and all 7.0 family)

Please be sure to keep both Zerto (in DR and Prod) at most, 1 version apart or the same version on both as described in our upgrade best practices:

Let me know if you need anything else.
